A couple of 20-year-old oil paintings have appeared online. When I look at them, I notice that fundamentally all of the things I do today are in them. Brushwork, motifs, and composition. There is a development among all artists, but the basic imagery that is formed in adolescence lives on.

I'm doing a portrait in oil right now so I can see how similar technology is from now and 20 years ago.
